Our Hyundai Assurance is a promise that keeps giving in 8 different durations: 10-year, 8-year, 7-year x 2, 5-year x 2, 2012-2019 and 12-month. It does not stop there but extends to 8 different mileages: 100,000-mile, 80,000-mile, 70,000-mile, 60,000-mile, 12,000-mile and unlimited miles.
Our aim with this post is to give you an understanding of these warranties per their mileages.
This warranty covers either 5 years or 7 years. Whereas a 24-hour road assistance is written into the 5 years coverage (with specific instructions on how to activate this by dialing America’s Best Warranty support line: 1-800-243-7766), the 7 years coverage comes with an anti-perforation warranty (excluding corrosion) starting with the 2005 Hyundai model.
This has 10 years coverage and it shoulders a powertrain warranty that is specific to the actual owner of the vehicle from the 2004 Hyundai model upwards; earlier models down to 1999 has this coverage for the actual owner and the members of their immediate nuclear family.
This is an 8-year coverage that focuses on the impact of Hyundai vehicles on the environment. As guessed, this is in line with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) directives.
This is a Federal Emission Defect and Performance warranty that protects against non-conformance to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) directives per OBD-II, catalytic converter and engine control module.
This is known as the California Emission Control Systems Warranty and it provides coverage for the replacement and refurbishment of Hyundai emissions components; it covers a 7-year period for Hyundai vehicles produced, distributed and registered according to California car specs, distributed by the Hyundai Motor America company and registered in California and these other states: New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, Washington, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Rhode Island.
For this mileage, the warranty provided is a limited warranty for these components in your brand new Hyundai ride: battery, radio and audio systems, air conditioner refrigerant charge, paint, brake pads, clutch linings, bulbs, fuses, brake linings, belts, wiper blades, filters, et al.
At 12,000 miles, the Hyundai Assurance gives you a warranty coverage for a period of 12 months. What is covered in these 12 months?
Not to forget the last but not the least, there is the “Lifetime Miles” which comes as a Hybrid Battery warranty for the original owner and offers 10 years and 100,000 miles for the next owner on all Hybrid/Electric battery Hyundai vehicles for models released in year 2012 to year 2019.
